Forum Guidelines for Members
Welcome to the official Rochester Colonials RFC message boards. This site is for those that have an interest in the club. We encourage players, spectators, friends, family, and anyone else to use the boards. The boards are divided into a number of subject-specific forums, so, to get best results, post your questions and comments on the most appropriate forum. If you have any questions about the club, or anything to do with the great game of rugby, then feel free to post it. You will be required to create a user account to do so, but we do not restrict guests from viewing the more important details. Since this site is the offical forum for the Rochester Colonials it is, in effect, a public face for the club. We ask that all contributors try to follow a few guidelines when posting: - The old Internet guideline of, "Don't say anything on these boards that you wouldn't say to somebody face to face", is obviously the best guide. - All lively debate is very much encourged on any subject but all members must accept that people have different points of view from their own, and respect this. By all means disagree but please don't get personal, or let a debate sink to abuse. - Because this is a totally public forum please don't publish personal details on the forum such as your phone number. That information can be easily passed using the Personal Message (PM) facility. - Adult conversation is acceptable but some thought should be given to the fact that anyone could be reading the boards. - Links to personal websites are acceptable, within reason, but members are asked to refrain from posting these indiscriminately, i.e., 'spamming'. These links can, of course, be included on your personal profile page for all to see! - Automated posting by any means, such as a script or macro, is not permitted. - Whilst there will always be some angry or drunken messages from positive members, constant negative postings by one member (known as "trolling") will see action to warn and where necessary ban that member - however, we would much rather the "troll" become a positive contributor. - These boards reflect the Rochester Colonials and as such should also reflect the friendliness and spirit of the club.
